The resemblance of certain subjects often leads both parties in a debate to face the same doubt, resulting in rebuttals that are merely counter-examples rather than substantive responses. However, it is sometimes overlooked that seemingly similar issues encompass distinct dimensions, which must be considered before raising objections or offering replies. The permissibility of using camel urine in Islamic texts and the usage of cow urine in Zoroastrian purification rituals exemplify such cases.<br />One of the criticisms raised by Muslims against Zoroastrians concerns the ritual use of cow urine in purification rites. In response to this, not only have Zoroastrians provided explanatory (ḥallī) answers, but they have also raised a counter-objection (naqḍī) regarding the Islamic use of camel urine.<br />This study examines the topic through the lens of various dimensions, distinctions, and foundational principles of both traditions. The findings suggest that, given the differences in theological context and textual engagement, the use of camel urine in Islamic sources cannot be equated with the use of cow urine in Zoroastrian texts. Therefore, employing a counter-example as a valid response in this context is methodologically flawed.
